Health
The needs and goals in the area of physical activity and health are diverse. Topics such as a healthy lifestyle, behavioural change, self-efficacy, promoting resilience, developing coping strategies and strengthening self-regulation skills in and through exercise and sport are just some of the possible aspects. asp is committed to emphasising the importance of physical activity for health and well-being. Physical activity not only promotes physical fitness, but also has a positive influence on mental health and general well-being. In addition, physical activity can take place in various settings, such as in gyms, at work, at school/daycare centres or in nature. Last but not least, sports psychology expertise is also in demand in sports and exercise therapy for people with mental illnesses. One focus of research activities should therefore be to take into account the individual needs and preferences of people in different settings and to offer customised sport psychology interventions in order to ensure a high level of effectiveness.
In asp, we aim to actively network with the various stakeholders from science, practice, business and politics. We support sport psychologists with further education programmes, training courses and networking events to expand their specialist knowledge and keep up to date with the latest developments. Together, we are committed to promoting the importance of physical activity for health and well-being and supporting people in leading an active and healthy life.
