Applied sportpsychology & education
Applied sports psychology
Applied sports psychology uses scientifically sound methods to sustainably optimise the mental performance of athletes and coaches. According to asp, serious and sustainable applied sports psychology generally follows a three-step approach consisting of diagnostics, intervention and evaluation.
Mental and physical health is the basis for any positive and sustainable performance development. This is why sports psychology experts also support clients in reconnecting with themselves and what they are doing. On this basis, the various goals within and outside of sport can be achieved in a healthy way and new challenges can be tackled time and again.
There are two options for sports psychology training
1) University training
Sports psychology Master's degree programmes have been available at German universities and universities of applied sciences since 2008. The aim of the degree programmes is to impart basic and applied knowledge of sport psychology and to provide students with specific sport psychology skills with regard to the professional field in the performance and/or health sector. Admission requirements for application are at least a B.A. degree in psychology or sports science. Some of the degree programmes are subject to tuition fees. There may also be an internal university numerus clausus. Please enquire with your local contact person.
