Supervision

Supervision is a key element in the professionalisation and quality assurance within the applied sport psychology. Characteristic of supervision processes is the establishment of a perspective that brings together the different aspects of a topic into a single image. In addition, the specific nature of supervision can be seen in the attitude of the supervisor, which is characterized by open-endedness, critical loyalty, and his/her fundamental interest in the sustainable improvement of sport psychological support. This is possible because the supervisor is competent and experienced.

Intervision

In contrast to supervision, intervision denotes a peer consultation in sport psychology. Interested persons in sport psychological support and counseling in competitive/top-level sports reflect on their practical activities with colleagues and work together to find solutions or new perspectives to current counseling issues. As part of an intervision no presence of a supervisor is required that meets the criteria of the asp regarding supervision.
